Flash 9 installation on Mac OS X

In my one year of using a Mac I have never had any problems doing an installation, or doing anything for that matter. Nothing, that is, until I tried to upgrade to version 9 of Adobe's Flash player.

I finally found a workaround here.

I had to delete and reinstall all browsers, and install Safari using Pacifist to access the package on the install DVD. That worked. None of the other solutions proposed by Adobe did.

Step 1)

a) Get dmg files for browsers you use.

b) Also get AppZapper (www.appzapper.com $12.95) AppZapper does a complete removal of the application from your system.

c) and Pacifist (http://www.charlessoft.com $20 shareware). Pacifist allows you to reinstall just Safari from your system DVD.

Step 2) Remove ALL browsers using AppZapper

Step 3) Reinstall All browsers. Opera and Firefix are easy. Safari required the use of Pacifist and OS X install DVD (Leopard).

Step 4) Download Flash 9 installer.

Step 5) Run Flash 9 installer.

That should do it...
